Brick Road

I don't keep it hidden that I have a slightly "small" addiction to matching sets & full skirts.
Once I saw this beautiful broderie full skirt and cropped bustier from Portmans I knew I had to have it. With a black and white themed wedding on the horizon I thought this would be a great on-trend Spring outfit paired with my staple Tony Bianco heels.

Poolside with Candice

Here's a little teaser shoot for my editorial for Things We See Magazine.

This little teaser happened by accident but I absolutely love how it turned out. Actually there were a lot of accidents this day and this was probably the unluckiest and most stressful shoot I have worked on. Full credit to the team who always remained cool, calm and collected and worked together to get the results.

I want to give major props to our model Candice. I had worked with Candice once before and she really impressed me. She is very aware of her body and angles and takes direction really well. She is always reliable, positive and energetic. And should we talk about her body? Ahhhh-mazing! And you know what's refreshing? She actually eats all day, she had a snack pack of fruits, vegetables and a protein shake to keep her energy pumping throughout the long day. She's really into her health and fitness and it shows. My other favourite things about Candice?.... her lady lumps! I'm an absolute sucker for a model with big, natural beeewbs - side bewb, under bewb, cleavage, full frontal bewb, nip slip - the breasticle possibilities are endless really.

So on that note, i'll leave you thinking about Candice's bewbs and say au revoir!

Enjoy the weekend my kittens xxx

Lady Boy

Ok i'm gonna tell you something I probably shouldn't... sooooo i'm not really into this whole fashion streetstyle blogging thang. I'm a little self-conscious about my current weight and i'm a comfort dresser so as much as I do love fashion, buying and wearing it, it's not like i'm going to be in contention for any best dressed lists anytime soon. When shooting for the blog, I always take my time shooting with Sinead - looking for the best location and light, but with myself I just wanna get in and get out - back to the comfort of my role behind the camera.

Sinead loves it though, and I enjoy shooting her, but I actually really relish my more career driven posts. So I think we will need to reassess how we do things here at CC&SIN. Focus on our strengths and what motivates us.  But don't worry, you'll still see my pink head all over the shop - it just won't be as streetstyle-y as say this post.

Enough about that shizzle - let's talk about the clothes already. So usually, I dress like a boy. If I could have a wardrobe entirely made up of jeans and expensive shirts i'd be the happiest little vegemite. But lately, something has happened, something has changed. It may be a sub-conscious reaction to the pink hurr. All of a sudden, I kinda like dressing like a lady! Weeeeird! Dresses, full skirts, floral and heels - wtf!? So after Sinead bought this striped skirt from Sportsgirl, I went and bought it too (we often buy the same clothes, BFF's - duh). We wear it completely differently but I dig it. Clashed with some leopard print for a dressier look or dressed down with an adidas tshirt and slides for something a bit for low key. I ended up wearing this look to my 10 year reunion at the races and I felt comfortable and feminine. Perfect.

Should we take a second to acknowledge my beautiful new Status Anxiety handbag. Ugh. Dead. I've been lusting after it for a looong time and finally bit the bullet. It's the most amazing leather and an Australian brand - i'm all about supporting our local industry as you know.

Laurallie - Tasman Heart

I don't know if I believe in fate or destiny but sometimes certain pieces of life's puzzles fall perfectly into place and it all feels so right.

Early one morning, while preparing for a shoot, I received a phone call from a woman named Lauren - a designer for an emerging swimwear label. She was shooting the launch campaign the following morning but her photographer had just fallen through. She had gotten my details from a mutual friend and called me in a last ditch effort to find a replacement. We got chatting, made the arrangements and booked in for the following day. Lauren also asked "I kinda want a second model, a blonde, do you know anyone?".  Well I did know someone. A very natural, edgy little babe that I shot the week before - Hannah. Hannah jets down to Lauren's that night for a fitting and a spray tan and they hit it off immediately.

The next day we roll on to set at 7.30am (I hate morning shoots) fresh as a daisy and Lauren and I meet for the first time and start hashing out a plan for the shoot. The sun is beaming, the sky is blue and it couldn't be more perfect weather for a swimwear campaign. We head on down to Main Beach and get under way. Our first model, Alannah, is a total pro - she goes from 0-100 in 0.05 seconds and needs no warm up time. Kills it. Hannah steps in and is just such a natural beach babe - she blows me away.

The day goes smoothly, the models got ice-creams, I get sunburnt, we finish on time and it's happy days. Well since that fateful day - Lauren and I have spoken maybe twice a day for the past month and I am happy to say that I have a new friend. Hannah also starts work for Laurallie as Lauren's assistant and it all seems a little serendipitous.

Well today LAURALLIE SWIM launched! They have released 2 collections, very different from eachother, and everything is AUSTRALIAN MADE!!!

Here are a few of my favourite shots from "Tasman Heart" - i'll share the second part of the launch campaign with you soon.

A French Vacay

OUI OUI PARI..

NO, unfortunately I haven't jet setted off to beautiful Paris but I have been drawn to the land of  the Eiffel Tower, French kisses, frog legs & snails for outfit inspiration this race season.

Both CC and I can't get enough of a full three quarter length midi skirt, my wardrobe boasts a new & exciting collection of all different takes on this 50's staple.

Paired with a T-Shirt or a Crop wear this skirt from day to night.

We have a feeling the voluminous lady like silhouette is here to stay!

Keep tuned for more outfit posts featuring the full-midi skirt trend.

Naughty Blogger

Ok yes, I do realise that our blogging of late has been sporadic and slack. And yes, I am sorry. But we're still here, we're just busy werrrkin and trying to turn a dollar. Just give me a moment to explain myself and then maybe we can talk about being friends again...

Here's what i've been up to...

Shooting and editing my campaign for my favourite bohemian jeweller, Hunter Gatherer. You may have seen a couple of teaser images on instagram. Really excited for this one to launch and this is my 5th time shooting for this brand. I have a really trusting relationship with Designer Renee and we always do great work together. Sending through the final images to HG tonight. Keep your eyes peeled for this one, will be doing a BTS post once it has launched.

I was also brought on board at the very last minute to shoot a swimwear campaign with Laurallie Swim (i'm talking with less than 24 hours until call time I was booked, ahh life on the edge). I love shooting swimwear and had a great time running around the beach with a couple of babes. Keep an eye out for the release this week!

Shot another lookbook for Madlove The Label - my 3rd with these guys. Always a great time and a team I feel very comfortable with. I can't share the images from this one yet so here's an outtake from our first lookbook.

Had my very first showcase at Raw Gold Coast. This was pretty exciting for me as I knew a large amount of people would be viewing my work in the flesh. It's also a little daunting - what if people think my work is shit? Which images should I choose to showcase that best show off my work? What if the other photographers there are waaaaaaay better than meeeeeeeee? Well it all went perfectly and I got great feedback, I was very grateful to Raw for asking me to a part of this event and I love what they are doing for the local arts industry. Here's one of the images I showed.

Shot and edited my first cover shoot which has now been released - Rock'n'Roll - for Fashion Observer Magazine. Pretty darn exciting and a major milestone ticked off my list. You can view the shoot/magazine HERE otherwise i'll be sharing the full shoot on ze blog soon.

Shot my first beauty campaign for new brand KSI Cosmetics. Beauty shoots are quite challenging and it is imperative that everything looks perfect. Beauty is all about selling a 'can't live without' product so every little detail needs to be flawless. The brains behind KSI Cosmetics is Katherine, a very talented make-up artist and a total professional. I loved all her products and can see big things for this brand. Can't wait to release the campaign in a few weeks. After the campaign shots we had a little bit of fun with some bubbles and a hair flick with gorgeous model Rosanna Arkle. Here's a little teaser.

It's also that time of year for the Monster Children Photo Annual. I enter every year and every year the field just gets more and more amazing. Gosh there are some talented peeps around. I didn't have very high hopes of making the cut but when MC shared one of my images on their Facebook page and it got a tonne of likes, comments and shares I accidentally got really excited. I usually don't let myself get too excited about things like this because so often they fall through and i'm left in the depths of depression for a week taking solitude with a bottle of whiskey and sad country music. This is quite confusing for my boyfriend as I don't listen to country music...or drink whiskey.  BUT I DIGRESS... So turns out, I didn't make the shortlist for the Monster Children Comp. Cue "Geordie, where the fuck is the WHISKEY?!?!". So moral of the story is, if you're going to choose a life of creativity - always make sure there is whiskey somewhere in the house and add some Garth Brooks to your playlist immediately.

Ok so now do you understand why I have been so distant? It's been a pretty intense month as you can see. I will do my best to get some more content out to you a bit more regularly but ya know, a gal needs sleep! Coming up on the agenda - model portfolio's, a lookbook/campaign, a magazine editorial and my 10 year reunion. I don't know whether that last part is exciting or depressing. Maybe both? Has it really been 10 years? My crows feet don't lie.... cue country music!

The Casual Weekender

If you're anything like me you find casual dressing harder than dressing for cocktail or formal events. I've been spending my weekends in over-sized jumpers/tees, rolled up jeans and boots. Lucky for us Gold Coasters the sun is shining and we can feel Summer just around the corner. Time to spruce up my Summer wardrobe and my casual essentials. I'm currently obsessing over this Rayon & lace trim top from local Gold Coast Designer Coast by Kate Campbell.  The tassle fringing provides the ultimate bohemian feel. Paired with One Teaspoon denim cut off's, the Kalisse Top is the perfect staple to throw on for those Summer road trips to Byron Bay.
